Features & Highlights
If you're looking for a reliable solution to manage your communications without the need for an additional physical phone, then "Text Me: Second Phone Number" is a fantastic option. This app offers an array of features that elevate your calling and texting experience. Here are some of the core features that stood out to me:
Each of these features enhances the app’s functionality, making it an essential tool for anyone looking to streamline their communication while maintaining privacy.
Real Experience Using Text Me: Second Phone Number
Application Scenarios
In my daily life, I often find myself juggling various responsibilities, from work tasks to personal commitments. One of the primary scenarios where I frequently use the Text Me app is during my freelance projects. By using the second phone number, I can communicate with clients without revealing my personal number. This separation allows me to maintain professionalism and set boundaries. Additionally, when I’m out with friends, I use the app to coordinate events. Instead of bombarding my personal contacts with group texts, I create a separate messaging group through the app. This feature has saved me from potential awkwardness and kept my personal space intact.
User Experience
The user interface of Text Me is intuitive and user-friendly. After downloading the app, I was guided through a simple setup process that took just a few minutes. The main dashboard is neatly organized, making it easy to navigate between messages, calls, and settings. Each feature flows seamlessly into the next. For example, when I receive a call, I can quickly switch to the messaging interface without losing track of the conversation. The app performs smoothly, with minimal lag during calls or message sending. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive; I appreciate how the app provides the functionality I need without unnecessary clutter.
Pricing
Text Me: Second Phone Number operates on a freemium model. While the basic features are available for free, premium options can be unlocked via subscription or one-time purchases. I opted for the premium plan, which offers additional features like an ad-free experience and unlimited texting and calling. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the functionality it provides, making it a solid investment for anyone needing a second line.
Updates & Support
The developers of Text Me are proactive in maintaining the app. Regular updates ensure that the app runs smoothly and incorporates user feedback. I’ve noticed improvements in call quality and speed over time. If I ever encounter an issue, the support team is responsive and helpful. They’ve addressed my inquiries promptly, which makes me feel valued as a user. Overall, the support and updates add to the sense that I’m using a well-cared-for product.
Security & Privacy Review
When it comes to security and privacy, Text Me: Second Phone Number takes several important steps to ensure user safety. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. During registration, users are required to provide basic personal data, such as an email address but are not prompted for sensitive information like social security numbers. This is reassuring, especially for American users concerned about data privacy.
One downside is that the app does display ads, and it’s unclear how much tracking is involved. However, I’ve found that the ads are relatively unobtrusive and don’t hinder the user experience significantly. Overall, while no app is entirely free from privacy concerns, Text Me appears to prioritize user security effectively, making it a reliable choice for those seeking a second phone number.

This is a low rating despite the stellar service. Let me explain. Text Me is an easy service to sign up for, with free high quality calls and texts. Everything you would want from a service like this. However the app is abysmally slow and stutters constantly. 50% to 70% of screen space is ads leaving a small window to navigate. Video ads are long and frequent. It logs you out making it inconsistent or useless for incoming calls though it's so slow, I've never been able to answer a call in time.

I just subscribed to the premium plan which included no ads, and I'm still getting bombarded with ads. At the moment it appears that I am able to make and receive calls, as well as SMS texting, but because of the continuous ads, I'm also unable to determine whether or now my phone number is secure. It wasn't the reaction I was hoping for, especially with the ads. :-(

**scam alert** spend 29.99 to keep you number no calls no text... ok fine it could be better expressed in app. Then spend 29.99 on there premium monthly subscription where it says no ads unlimited calls and text and what's this? you still need to buy credits??? DO NOT use this app they are stealing your money. I though maybe it was a glitch so I reached out to support, no help what so ever. They told me that my information would be helpful to better advertise the options. umm what?!?

Some good things. Easy to use, less ads but also need a subscription if you want the ads to not hinder use of the app. A lot of issues. Constantly logs you out so you are not receiving messages/calls. The servers are always down which makes it impossible to login. If you forget your password, good luck, the email link to reset or login rarely works on the first 9 tries. Does not allow you to save numbers unless they are also in your phone contacts so you can't keep Textme contacts separate.

This app is easy to use. It gives you a free second number for a USA or Canada number. Two problems. Lots of adds and for any other place in the world besides USA or Canada, you have to pay. It doesn't pester you about paying for premium. Texts go through and you do not need wifi. Calls are clear. This app let's you add anyone even if they don't have text me. I wish there was a way to video call. Totally 4 stars.
