Whether navigating the streets of Seoul or chatting with locals in a small café, the app has been my go-to solution for breaking down language barriers. Security & Privacy Review
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, and Naver Papago addresses these concerns effectively. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which ensures a level of credibility and safety. Upon downloading, I was required to create an account, but the registration process was straightforward and didn't ask for excessive personal information, which I appreciated.
In terms of ads or tracking behavior, I have not encountered intrusive advertisements while using Papago, which is a relief. The app does track usage data to improve performance, but it seems to do so in a way that respects user privacy. Overall, I feel secure using Naver Papago for my translation needs, knowing that my personal information is not at risk.

Great peice of software! You can translate via text, or voice conversational style for when you are with locals and you can't speak the language. You also have an option for translating documents and contracts very useful for business professionals. If you're trying to navigate around an unfamiliar city, buy some differently labeled items you can use images as well.

Might be ok for "good morning" or "what day is it today" scenarios but for anything requiring slightly more complex grammar or spelling (not even considering formal modes) it's pretty useless. Imposible for having a proper conversation in Japanese or Korean, even for a screenshot of the instructions of a beverage, it sucks. Considering the state of AI just use chatpgt or claude.

Works well in most cases. But has some problems. When I try to translate long Chinese text, it sometimes totally remove all the line breaks, making things hard to read. Also, while I read translated web site, if I use some other app and come back, it just go back to initial screen, losing where I was reading so far. I had to find the address I was reading and re-translate it. When that happens at the bad situation, it really makes me to think twice about using this app.

Living in Korea, this is a life saver. I use it daily for survival, and for helping my English students learn proper and accurate translations. Google translate does not compare to this app. Papago is extremely accurate and the only reliable Korean-English application. The voice is very natural sounding and accurate, it helps me when I need last second translations and to hear its pronunciation! Again, you cannot go wrong with this app!

Took away 2 stars because my account was banned for no reason (says suspicious location or process?) the day after I signed up through the app in the US. I barely had a chance to use it, so not sure what extra features that really gives you. Pretty nice ui, and convenient. Seems best for Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English. I'm using for Japanese and the pronunciation is much better & more realistic than Google translate. I like that you can favorite phrases to use later. Includes flash cards
