Real Experience Using Curb - Request & Pay for Taxis
Application Scenarios
As a busy professional living in a bustling city, I often find myself needing reliable transportation to various meetings, social events, and even late-night outings. Curb has become my go-to app for hailing a taxi. For instance, just last week, I had back-to-back meetings scheduled across town. Instead of worrying about parking or public transport delays, I simply opened Curb, requested a ride, and arrived at each destination stress-free. It’s also been a lifesaver during evenings out with friends when we want to enjoy ourselves without the hassle of driving.
User Experience
The user interface of the Curb app is straightforward and intuitive. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that allows me to input my pickup and drop-off locations seamlessly. The workflow for booking a ride is smooth; I can easily switch between payment methods and see my fare estimate before confirming the ride. During my rides, the app performs exceptionally well, providing accurate tracking and timely notifications regarding my driver’s arrival. I feel reassured knowing that I can contact my driver directly through the app if necessary. Overall, my experience using Curb has been overwhelmingly positive, and I genuinely appreciate how it makes my life easier.
Pricing
Curb's pricing is generally competitive with other taxi services, and I’ve found it to be fair considering the quality of service provided. While there may be variations depending on time of day and demand, I appreciate the transparency in fare estimates before booking a ride. Additionally, the occasional promotions offer great value, allowing me to save money while enjoying reliable transportation.
Updates & Support
Curb frequently updates its app to enhance usability and introduce new features, which is a major plus for me as a user. Whenever I encounter a minor issue or have a question, I’ve found their customer support to be responsive and helpful, whether through in-app messaging or their website. They genuinely seem committed to improving the user experience, and I appreciate the updates that keep the app running smoothly.
Security & Privacy Review
As an American user, I take security and privacy seriously, especially when it comes to apps that handle personal data and payment information. Curb is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which reassures me that it meets certain security standards.
When registering, I had to provide basic personal information, which included my name, phone number, and payment details. While I understand this is necessary for a service like Curb, I was pleased to see that they emphasize user privacy and security throughout their policies.
Furthermore, I didn’t notice any intrusive ads or excessive tracking behavior, which is a common concern among users today. It feels good to use an app that respects my privacy while still providing a high level of service. Overall, my experience with Curb has been positive in terms of security, allowing me to focus on my rides rather than worrying about my personal information.

Do not waste your time with this app as a wheelchair user. It's already hard enough for us to get accessible taxis, and I thought this app would make it easier, but it's just a pain. The taxis take forever to get to my location, and I often have to cancel and rebook multiple times before I can actually get somebody. nonetheless it'll glitch and book multiple rides at a time, so then I'm getting a dozen different calls from drivers wondering where I am. it's ridiculous and I can't win either way

Helpful and convenient. I was cautious reading other reviews, but the experience ended up being perfect. I needed to plan a pickup from my hotel to the airport, and it worked smoothly. I can't speak for every area, but I found pricing to be better than Uber or Lyft. the timing was relatively accurate, too, and a yellow cab was at the hotel before long. If reviews kept you trying before, give it a try now. I had a solid experience.

I can no longer take taxis in my city thanks to Curb. The app keels denying my card, which means it also declines in the back seat of a taxi (even when I am not using the Curb app). App keeps looping when I try to add PayPal. I've tried reaching out to support and they either email back some generic template or don't respond. Despite reaching out multiple times, I've been ignored.

My biggest complaint with this app is the geo-blocking. If you aren't in the service area, the app blocks you from logging in. Especially if you're international. I understand that I can't hail a Las Vegas cab from my home in Amsterdam, but I really need to login to the app to view my travel history! Besides that, I prefer a licensed cab to a ride share.

In NYC. 1st time I waited about 10 mins while app was looking for a driver. Nothing. I went to the street and quickly found a green taxi (curb). Driver said he could only take cash. 2nd time I waited about 5 minutes and the app connected me to a driver who called me asking for directions. After she hung up on me, the app finished the ride as if I had taken it and charged me for it. I was scammed by the driver! Emailed support and will update further. UPDATE: I got refunded. That's it. Apparently there is a functionality in the app to indicate that you are not in the vehicle but SCAMMERS can work around it by keeping you in a call. Simple as that. Support also said they'll "make sure the driver gets additional training to prevent this issue in the future".
